BG Group completes sale of interest in GNL Quintero

On September 5, 2013, BG Group announced  that it had completed the sale of a second and final 20% equity interest in the GNL Quintero (GNLQ) regasification terminal in Chile to Terminal de Valparaiso, a company majority owned by Enagás, for $176 million.
The sale applies only to BG Group’s shareholding in GNLQ and do not impact the Group’s long-term contracts to supply LNG to the Chilean market.

Cleaner air with LNG for transport

Natural gas is well suited for use in fleet vehicles in urban environments, increasing energy efficiency while reducing emissions. Opportunities also exist for the use of liquefied natural gas for heavy duty trucks and in shipping. LNG is the alternative shipping fuel, emitting few particulates and reducing emissions by up to :

- 100% SOX

- 90% NOX

- 25% CO2

Domenico Dispenza elected as President of GIIGNL

In september 2012, the appointment of Domenico Dispenza as the new President of GIIGNL was approved, succeeding Jean Vermeire, who held the position since 2006 but whose mandate had reached its statutory limit.

Domenico Dispenza is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Versalis, the petrochemical company of the ENI Group. He ended his executive career in the ENI Group in 2011 as Chief Operating Officer of the Gas and Power division. From 2007 to 2010 he was also President of Eurogas.
