Woodside has agreed to acquire Tellurian, developer of the Driftwood LNG project in Louisiana, for $900 million in cash, valuing Tellurian at $1.2 billion. The deal, approved by both companies’ boards, is set to close in Q4 2024, pending regulatory and shareholder approvals. Woodside will also loan Tellurian up to $230 million to continue site activities. The Driftwood project, with a planned capacity of 27.6 mtpa, targets an FID readiness for Phase 1 (11 mtpa) by early 2025.
