First carbon-offset LNG for Hong Kong

CNOOC delivered its first carbon-offset LNG cargo to Hong Kong through Guangdong Dapeng LNG terminal. The 65 000 tonnes cargo originated from Oman and was purchased from an intermediary. It was transported by LNG carrier BW Magnolia. The life-cycle emissions from the cargo have been offset through carbon credits, partially originated from a forestry carbon sink project in Jiangxi (China) and partially from other global carbon credit providers.
