Inkoo LNG terminal starts operations in Finland

Excelerate Energy’s FSRU Exemplar located in the deep harbour Inkoo (Finland) received its first LNG cargo and started operations. The FSRU arrived on site on December 28, 2022. The construction works on the LNG terminal started in August 2022 and included the pier and mooring structures and systems needed by the FSRU as well as the construction of a 2.2-kilometre gas pipeline. The FSRU Exemplar has a 2.7 MTPA regasification capacity and will serve Finland, Estonia and the Baltic Sea region under the 10-year charter agreement signed by Excelerate Energy and Gasgrid Finland in May 2022. Natural gas can be imported into Estonia from Finland, via the submarine Balticconnector pipeline, opened 3 years ago.
