In 2017, global LNG trade accounted for 289.8 MT, a 9.9% increase vs. 2016.
40 countries were importing LNG and 19 countries were LNG exporters.
77.6 MT (27%) of global LNG volumes were traded on a spot or short-term basis.
On the supply side, the Pacific Basin was the largest source of LNG supplies with 45.3% of global volumes.
On the demand side, Asian countries accounted for 72.9% of global LNG imports.
At the end of 2017, the total regasification capacity reached 850 MTPA.
The aggregate nominal liquefaction capacity reached 365 MTPA.
