Shell anticipates a raise by more than 50% by 2040 of the global demand for LNG, supported by industrial coal-to-gas switching in China and by increasing use of LNG in South Asian and South-east Asian countries.

The 174 000 m3 FRSU Energos Power, chartered by Deutsche ReGas, to be deployed at the port of Mukran for a new floating LNG import terminal located on German island of Rügen, arrived on site to start commissioning of the “German Baltic Sea” terminal.

The SPA signed by Woodside and KOGAS should start in 2026 for a period of 10.5 years on a DES basis.

QatarEnergy announced a new LNG expansion project the “North Field West” of a 16 MTPA liquefaction capacity.

The Republic of the Congo joined the ranks of LNG exporters. The country’s first LNG cargo was shipped from Tango FLNG facility, owned and operated by ENI. The FLNG project took only 1 year from FID to first LNG. The FLNG is moored alongside the Excalibur FSU, using an innovative configuration “split mooring,” implemented for the first time in a floating LNG terminal.

 

Equinor and DeepakFertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. (DFPCL) signed a 15-year SPA for the supply of 0.65 MTPA of LNG with deliveries starting in 2026. LNG will be sourced from Equinor’s portfolio which includes supply from the Equinor operated Hammerfest LNG plant and LNG sourced from the USA.

According to the deal Chesapeake will purchase  0.5 MTPA of LNG from Delfin at a Henry Hub price from 2028, then deliver LNG to Gunvor for a period of 20 years on an FOB basis with the sales price linked to JKM. 

Grain LNG and Venture Global executed a binding long-term terminal use agreement (TUA) under which Venture Global will access 3 MTPA of LNG storage and regasification capacity at the Isle of Grain LNG receiving terminal for 16 years beginning in 2029.

LNG will be delivered to the Grain LNG import terminal in the UK.

QatarEnergy entered into a 20-year LNG SPA with Petronet LNG Limited for the supply of 7.5 MTPA of LNG. LNG will be delivered on a DES basis from May 2028.
