Mitsui supplies carbon-neutral LNG to Hokkaido Gas

Mitsui and Hokkaido Gas signed an agreement for the supply of carbon neutral LNG, which was the first carbon neutral LNG deal for both companies. The agreement is based on the long-term LNG SPA signed in 2017. According to the new agreement, Mitsui will offset LNG lifecycle CO2 emissions (including feed gas production, liquefaction, and combustion) of LNG cargoes supplied by Mitsui to Hokkaido Gas in March through carbon credits. The carbon credits are purchased by Mitsui from an international forest conservation project.
