First LNG received at Tianjin (Sinopec)'s LNG terminal
Sinopec announced today it has received a first LNG cargo at its Tianjin LNG terminal. The cargo was sourced from Australia.
The terminal will supply gas to Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong areas, in order to reduce gas shortages in the region.
The Tianjin LNG terminal has a 3 MTPA regasification capacity.
Sinopec already owns and operates two import terminals in Beihai and in Qingdao with a total capacity of 6 MTPA.

FID on a new LNG terminal in Japan (Shikoku Island)
Tokyo Gas Engineering, Shikoku Electric, Sumitomo Chemical, Sumitomo Joint Electric Power and Shikoku Gas said in a joint statement that they have decided to build a new LNG terminal at Sumitomo's Niihama chemical plant, located on Shikoku island.
The terminal, which will be built by Tokyo Gas Engineering, should start operations in February 2022.
The terminal will feature a 230,000cbm storage tank and will supply gas to the existing chemical plant and a new 150 MW gas-fired power plant to be built by Sumitomo Joint Electric. Once it is online, Sumitomo Joint Electric will shut down the existing coal-fired facilities at the Niihama plant.

Oman LNG signs 7-year LNG contract with BP Singapore
The SPA, a FOB contract starting January 2018, will span over a period of 7 years lifting 1.1 MTPA, which is equivalent to approximately 18 LNG cargoes annually.
Oman produced its first shipment of LNG in 2000 after the first of an initial two-train plant began operations under Oman LNG. A third train started to produce under Qalhat LNG in 2005. Both companies merged in 2013 and the three trains are now operated by Oman LNG.
Oman LNG operates as a joint venture with a shareholding structure comprising the Government of Oman (51%), Shell Gas B.V (30%), Total S.A. (5.54%), Korea LNG (5%), Mitsubishi Corporation (2.77%), Mitsui & Co. (2.77%), Partex (Oman) Corporation (2%), and Itochu (0.92%).

Cheniere and Trafigura sign 15-Year LNG SPA
Cheniere announced today that its subsidiary Cheniere Marketing has entered into an SPA with Trafigura.
Under the contract, Trafigura has agreed to purchase approximately 1 MTPA of LNG from Cheniere Marketing on a FOB basis for a term of 15 years beginning in 2019. The purchase price for LNG is indexed to the monthly Henry Hub price, plus a fee.

First LNGC from Yamal LNG arrives at Grain LNG
The first cargo shipped from Yamal LNG project has arrived today, onboard the Arc 7 LNGC Christophe De Margerie, at the UK's Isle of Grain LNG terminal.
The cargo was sold to Petronas LNG UK Limited.
Production from the first train of Yamal LNG (5.5 MTPA) has started in December 2017. Train 2 (5.5 MTPA) and Train 3 (5.5 MTPA) are expected to come online in 2018 and 2019.
Yamal project is a joint venture between Novatek (50.1%), Total (20%), CNPC (20%) and the Silk Road Fund (9.9%).
