Total makes significant equity investment in Clean Energy
France’s Total has agreed to purchase up to 50.8 million shares of Clean Energy’s common stock for $83.4 million, to become Clean Energy’s largest stockholder with ownership of 25% of Clean Energy’s outstanding shares of common stock.
Total will also provide $100 million in credit support for Clean Energy’s plan to launch a leasing program to place thousands of new natural gas heavy-duty trucks on North American roads by the third quarter of this year.
Clean Energy is the leading provider of natural gas fuel for transportation in North America with a network of over 550 stations. It builds and operates CNG and LNG stations in the U.S.

Japanese companies set up two LNG bunkering JVs
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" Line), Chubu Electric Power, Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) have established today two Joint Ventures for LNG bunkering business. Following the announcement in January, the four companies have discussed jointly on the commercialization of LNG bunkering business in the Chubu region, located in the center of Japan. Going forward, each of the four companies will utilize its expertise and strengths to propel the “Ship-to-Ship Bunkering” business.
The two joint ventures have been named the Central LNG Marine Fuel Corporation and the Central LNG Shipping Japan Corporation. The first of the two will be running the LNG bunkering business while the second will own the LNG bunkering vessel.

Petrobangla secures LNG supplies from Oman Trading
Bangladesh's Petrobangla has signed a 10-year SPA to buy 1 MTPA of LNG from Oman Trading International. This SPA is Bangladesh's second long-term contract, following a deal to buy 2.5 MTPA from Qatar's RasGas over 15 years in September 2017. The purchase price has been set at around 11.9% of the three-month average of Brent crude prices plus 40 cents/MMBtu.
Petrobangla notes that the deliveries of 500,000 tons per annum under the agreement with Oman Trading to the terminal are scheduled to start by the end of May. The remaining 500,000 tons are expected to start being delivered to the terminal developed by Summit Corporation in October.

Venture Global LNG enters into a 20-year SPA with Galp
Venture Global LNG and Galp have entered into a 20-year SPA for the supply of 1 MTPA from the Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility, currently under development in Cameron Parish, USA. Under this agreement, Galp will purchase LNG on a FOB starting from the commercial operation date of the facility, currently expected in 2022.
Venture Global LNG is developing both the 10 MTPA Venture Global Calcasieu Pass facility located at the intersection of the Calcasieu Ship Channel and the Gulf of Mexico and the 20 MTPA Venture Global Plaquemines facility in Plaquemines Parish, 30 miles south of New Orleans, Louisiana.

India's first FSRU-based terminal starts operations in Q4 2018
H-Energy launches India’s first FSRU-based LNG terminal at Jaigarh Port in Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra. The LNG terminal is developed with a capacity of 4 MTPA and will be capable of reloading LNG into other vessels. It is scheduled for commercial operations by Q4 2018.
H-Energy mentions that it will provide storage, re-gasification, re-loading, fuel bunkering and truck loading services to the Indian industries that are showing increasing demand for the chilled fuel. The natural gas from the terminal will be supplied to customers, through a 60-km tie-in pipeline which shall be connected to national gas grids at Dabhol.
