Port Arthur LNG reached FID

Sempra Infrastructure took FID for the development, construction, and operation of the 2-train Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 project, located in Jefferson County, Texas, USA. The company issued a final notice to proceed under the project’s EPC agreement with Bechtel Energy. The commercial start-up is expected in 2027 for Train 1 and in 2028 for Train 2. Out of its total 13 MTPA liquefaction capacity for Phase 1, 10.5 MTPA are contracted for long term with ConocoPhillips, RWE Supply and Trading, PKN ORLEN, INEOS and ENGIE.

In addition, Sempra Infrastructure finalized its JV with ConocoPhillips and announced an agreement to sell an indirect, non-controlling interest in the project to an infrastructure fund managed by KKR.
