Qatar Petroleum takes over Qatargas I

Qatar Petroleum will become the 100% owner of the Qatargas 1 assets and facilities starting from January 2022 following the expiry of the Qatargas Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited (QG1) joint venture agreements. Currently QG1 is owned by Qatar Petroleum, Total, ExxonMobil, Marubeni and Mitsui and operated by QatarGas. With a production capacity of around 10 MTPA of LNG, QG1 facilities will continue to be operated by QatarGas on behalf of Qatar Petroleum as of 2022.
