First simultaneous operations LNG bunkering in Europe

The first simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) bunkering on an LNG powered vessel have been carried out on July 4 in the port of Rotterdam. The vessel – Containerships Nord – has become the first container carrier performing this kind of operations in Europe by means of ship-to-ship (STS) bunkering. SIMOPS bunkering allows for the simultaneous bunkering of LNG and execution of loading and unloading procedures.The operations have been performed by the company Containerships (CMA CGM Group).
