Eni has signed agreements with the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, the EGAS and Naturgy, allowing amicable settlement of the disputes over Union Fenosa Gas and SEGAS assets. According to the agreements the resulting shareholding of SEGAS will include Eni 50%, EGAS 40% and EGPC 10%. Eni will also take over the feed gas supply contracts and receive corresponding liquefaction rights at the Damietta plant owned by SEGAS. The agreements enable the restart of the 5 Mtpa liquefaction facility, which has been idle since 2012, in the beginning of 2021.
