FID on of Port Arthur LNG export plant, delayed
May 5, 2020
Given current market dynamics, Sempra Energy announced that a final investment decision for its Port Arthur LNG export plant in Texas is now expected in 2021 instead of 2020. The project would consist of two 5.5 mtpa (7.4 bcm/year) liquefaction trains that have already been approved and could be commissioned in 2023. Two other 6.8 mtpa trains are under consideration. A fixed-price EPC contract for the project was signed with Bechtel in early March 2020.
