Petronas Gas (Petgas) has received today its first commercial LNG cargo at the newly-commissioned Pengerang LNG terminal in Johor.

The LNG cargo was delivered to the terminal, called RGTP, by MISC’s LNGC Seri Begawan. Prior to this, RGTP terminal has received three commissioning cargoes on September 1 and 23 and on October 17.

The terminal will provide gas supply to the Pengerang Integrated Complex which includes refinery and petrochemical plants, as well as a cogeneration plant. The terminal will also supply the peninsular gas utilisation system, to increase the availability of gas in the country.

The terminal has a total capacity of 3.5 MTPA. It includes two 200,000cbm LNG storage tanks and a jetty which can accommodate Q-Max carriers.

The facility is operated by PLNG2 Sdn Bhd (PetGas 65%, Dialog LNG Sdn Bhd 25%, Permodalan Darul Takzim 10%).

The Pengerang terminal is PetGas’ second regasification facility to start operation after its first facility in Melaka.
