First LNG received at Tianjin (Sinopec)’s LNG terminal

Sinopec announced today it has received a first LNG cargo at its Tianjin LNG terminal. The cargo was sourced from Australia.
The terminal will supply gas to Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong areas, in order to reduce gas shortages in the region.
The Tianjin LNG terminal has a 3 MTPA regasification capacity.
Sinopec already owns and operates two import terminals in Beihai and in Qingdao with a total capacity of 6 MTPA.
