FPSO for GTA project is completed

China’s Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry completed at its Qidong shipyard the construction of the FPSO unit to be deployed as part of the 2.5 MTPA Greater Tortue-Ahmeyim (GTA) LNG project located offshore Mauritania and Senegal. The FPSO will process gas from the field, removing heavier hydrocarbon components, prior to delivering it to the FLNG. In addition to the FPSO, the Gimi FLNG vessel is being completed at Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard. The GTA project, which is being developed by bp, Kosmos Energy, Petrosen and SMH, is scheduled to start production in early 2023.
