Gazprom started LNG production at its 1.5 MTPA Portovaya LNG plant. The first cargo departed on board the 170 000 m3 LNG carrier Pskov, owned by Sovcomflot. The plant comprises two liquefaction trains, a loading bay for LNG carriers, including small scale vessels, bunkering and truck loading facilities, as well as a 42 000 m3 ground storage tank and 138 000 m3 FSU Portovyy. Gazprom plans to build an additional liquefaction train with a capacity of up to 2 MTPA.
