GIIGNL releases 2023 Annual Report

Today, GIIGNL released its 2023 Annual Report which summarizes the key figures and trends of the LNG industry in 2022.

Here are the main highlights of 2022:

✔ Net LNG imports reached 389.2, representing a 4.5% growth, compared to 372 MT imported in 2021,
✔ Spot & short-term LNG imports totaled 135 MT, representing 35% of global LNG trade, compared to 36.6% in 2021,
✔ European LNG imports up by almost 60% in 2022 with 43% of European imports coming from the USA
✔ US LNG accounted for 19.4% of LNG volumes imported globally,
✔ Total regasification capacity reached 1,068 MTPA with 9 new regasification terminals coming on stream in 2022,
✔ Global liquefaction capacity reached 476 MTPA,
✔ Three FID taken in 2022 for a total of 26 MTPA,
✔ The LNG carrier fleet comprised 734 vessels at the end of 2022
