GIIGNL releases 2024 Annual Report

As usual, this comprehensive document provides detailed statistics and analyses of our industry for 2023.
- Net LNG imports reached 401MT, representing 2.1% growth, a slowdown from the 5.6% increase in 2022
- Spot LNG trades totaled 141MT, representing 35% of LNG imports
- This growth was driven by Asia and the Americas whereas Europe’s demand remained stable.
- The United States became the first LNG exporter with 84,5MT
- Regasification capacity got to 1,143 MTPA with 17 new regasification terminals coming on stream in 2023
- Liquefaction capacity reached 481 MTPA
- Four FID taken in 2023 for a total of 38 MTPA
- The LNG tankers fleet consisted of 772 vessels at the end of 2023 (+41 vessels this year)
