IEA releases 10-Point Plan to Reduce EU’s Reliance on Russian Natural Gas

The IEA has a published a plan composed of 10 points which would allow the European Union to reduce its imports of Russian natural gas by more than one-third within a year, while respecting the European Green Deal and support energy security and affordability. Some of the actions include not signing further long-term contracts with Russia, turning more to other suppliers, drawing on other energy sources and accelerating efforts to provide consumers, businesses and industry with the means to use clean and efficient alternatives to natural gas.
