New operator for Sakhalin 2

A new operator Sakhalin Energy LLC, based in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, was assigned for the Sakhalin 2 LNG project. Gazprom holds 50% in the new entity as in the former operator. Other shareholders of Sakhalin Energy need to decide whether or not to participate in the new entity by September 4. All rights and obligations held by Sakhalin Energy have been transferred to the new company including LNG SPAs. Sakhalin 2 LNG asked foreign offtakers to change their settlement banks to Gazprombank JSC.
