New Fortress Energy (NFE) has started LNG production at its first FLNG project off Altamira, Mexico, the fastest large-scale LNG project developed. The first LNG cargo is expected in August 2024. Simultaneously, NFE also secured a $700 million loan to fund its second FLNG unit, set for completion in 2026. This unit, developed with Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE), will use the same modular technology as the first and be located onshore at Altamira.
