Pakistan opens LNG imports to private sector

Pakistan has decided to open up LNG market for the private sector from November 2020 until February 2021 (under the initial plan) with the goal to reduce financial risks and enhance gas supply in order to minimize shortage in the winter season. Two LNG terminals of Pakistan GasPort are currently handling their full allocated capacity of LNG imports. The government has also decided to auction the excess capacity of the second LNG terminal.
