Santos takes FID on Barossa gas project

Santos announced taking FID on the Barossa gas and condensate project, located offshore the Northern Territory, Australia, which will include an FPSO vessel, subsea production wells, supporting subsea infrastructure and pipelines. The project is aimed at providing a new supply source to the 3.7 MTPA Darwin LNG plant allowing its life extension for around 20 years. The US$3.6 billion Barossa project is considered as the biggest investment in Australia’s oil and gas sector since 2012. First gas production is targeted for the first half of 2025.
